Latest News June 2010 - Excellence in Business Tourism - Winner! The conference centre won the Excellence in Tourism category, once again, at the prestigious Mersey Partnership Awards last night. More than 500 guests gathered for the black tie dinner at the BT Convention Centre on the city's impressive waterfront. The judges commented on our passion and strong commitment to our customers and their needs. Nick Brook-Sykes, Director of Tourism at the North West Development Agency said 'Liverpool has proved itself to be an incredibly successful visitor destination, not only nationally, but on a global scale, thanks to those individuals and organisations that have been recognised at tonight's TMP Tourism Awards. The past 12 months have seen uncertain futures for many sectors, including the tourism industry; therefore tonight's prize winners should be particularly proud of their achievement and I applaud their dedication to delivering only the very best. I hope some of them will continue their winning streak at the England's Northwest Awards later this year.' The conference centre will represent the area at the regional awards in September April 2010 - Shortlisted for Mersey Partnership Tourism Awards The much anticipated shorlist for the Mersey Partnership Tourism Awards 2010 has been announced and we are delighted to have been shortlisted once again in the the Excellence in Business Tourism category. Specialist judges completed the first round of judging and the second round will include a mystery shop visit. A total of 15 awards will be presented at a prestigious event in front of 500 guests at the BT Convention Centre on 10th June. March 2010 - Four Nominated for Liverpool Ambassador Awards George Jones, our caretaker, scooped the Unseen Hero award at last night's Liverpool Ambassador Awards. Manager, Nicola Hitchen, says 'George approaches all tasks with enthusiasm and a great sense of pride. His sheer energy and sense of humour have made him a firm favourite with many of our customers. The award is very well deserved. Congratulations! March 2010 - Four Nominated for Liverpool Ambassador Awards Four members of the conference centre team were recently nominated for the Liverpool Ambassador Awards which recognise excellence in customer service. Nicola Worral and David Cadwallader were nominated in the Outstanding Customer Service category for the exceptional service they provide to delighted customers. Mark, our wonderful chef, was once again shortlisted in the Chef of the Year category and George, our caretaker was deservedly shortlisted in the Unseen Hero category.   The winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony which takes place at the Crown Plaza on 23rd March 2010. 14 November 2008 - Academy of Excellence Nomination The conference at LACE has an outstanding reputation for wonderful food and we are delighted to announce that our chef, Mark Bond, has been nominated for the Academy of Excellence Chef of the Year award. Manager Nicola Hitchen comments 'We are really passionate about food and it's widelly acknowledged as one of our greatest assets. The awards have given us an opportunity to recognise and reward Mark's contribution.
